Regency Sends Soap Worldwide
Save Bars, Save Lives
Hospitality goes beyond our property walls. We live and breathe it. At Regency, we look for ways to give back to our communities, both at home and abroad. That’s why it was a natural fit to partner with Clean the World, an organization that collects and donates soap worldwide.
Clean the World depends on hotels like ours to help give new life to old bars of soaps. They are recycled into new bars of soap and given to people who need them most. All Regency properties are involved in this program, each taking the extra steps of collecting leftover soap in guest rooms and putting them into bins.
“2.2 million people die every year from diseases that could have been prevented with soap,” said Jan Grunewaldt, Corporate Director of Operations at Regency Hotel Development. “At Regency, we can do our part to help and have fun at the same time.”

Every bin filled and donated to Clean the World provides a great sense of pride and accomplishment among our employees. Not only do we take care of our guests, but we are also helping families across the globe by providing a means to fight hygiene-related disease. The new bars of soap are being sent to countries such as Guatemala, Honduras, and Haiti in kits with shampoo, toothbrushes, and towels.
Something that seems so simple—a bar of soap—can have the greatest impact and save lives. It truly is humbling and inspiring to see our employees motivated to make a difference both in the lives of our guests and others across the globe.
